Remember the Martyrs

Contrary to routine start of such a meeting it initiated with the comments about somewhat uneasy stairs leading to their residence at first floor, the mother of Amna Batool Shaheed welcomed us with a smile on her face. I don’t know about others, but it was good enough, at least for me, to make the atmosphere comfortable.

It was one of the numerous houses who have sacrificed for a better Pakistan. Yes I was at Shaheed Amna Batool’s house, who was a student of International Islamic University Islamabad, martyred in the suicidal attack carried by the enemies of the nation. I was accompanied by my mother and aunt during the visit. It was a visit for conveying our feelings of sorrow we share with them regarding this great loss, and to show empathy and express the importance of their contribution. The family was unexpectedly calm and quite composed, much different from the picture painted on media by our always complaining intellectuals and think tanks, highly impressed by western countries neglecting they had been through two world wars. The family showed no complaints against the Government, and was quite hopeful that our forces will bring peace to the country once again, having faith that Allah will not let their sacrifice to be washed out by corruption and unconcerned attitude of society towards the homeland.

Think for a moment what kind of people are they, having no complaints?? Were they not hurt?? Yes they were hurt as much as human brain can think of, as much as a soul can bear but they were composed believing that they will get their reward in this world when our country Pakistan is going to rise again, when there would be no corruption, no terrorism, no injustice, believing that day is not very far.

If we want to do some soothing for Shaheeds of Pakistan and for their grieved families, then let’s work for our country, with open minds. Let us accept the ground realities and start tolerating the differences of opinion. Let us start giving importance to our own people and work for the betterment of common man leaving behind the stale horse of outdated ideologies.

Dawn of a developed Pakistan is not far away as this time. From the laborers, students, professionals, religious scholars to the Army Generals, every one has greatly sacrificed for the prosperous Pakistan. Though felt since day one, for the first time we have pointed on illiteracy as our common enemy, and we have to take steps to eradicate the problem. The blood of our beloved ones will definitely act as a strong bond strengthening the foundations of our unity and progress and we will Inshallah rise as a strong nation. To achieve this target everyone should be ready to sacrifice his/her life for the country as it is an honor and a life forever, achieved by fighting for the right.

We salute all the martyrs of Pakistan and Insh-a-Allah we won’t let their sacrifice washed away in any way.

Pakistan Zindabad, Pakistan Payindabad.
